Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport Ellijay is a small airport located in the city of Ellijay, in Hamilton County, Georgia. The airport has one runway that is 6,008 feet long and 45 feet wide. The airport has no permanent facilities, and it is used only for private aviation.
The airport was opened in 1961 as a reliever for the main Chattanooga Airport. At its peak, the airport had six aircraft based there. However, with the growth of the Chattanooga metropolitan area and the increase in commercial flights at the main airport, Ellijay gradually lost its importance. Currently, only two planes are based at Ellijay: a single-engine Cessna 172 and a twin-engine Beechcraft Bonanza.
